Orlin was looking for a way to energize his Greek History class. The group has a self-governing Steering Committee with elected officers.
All Puget Sound area schools affiliated with NWAIS are invited to join the consortium.
PSIS has no professional staff – all our work groups are made up of volunteers from our individual schools.
In order to sustain and continue to improve our benefits, the consortium will charge annual dues to member schools based on the school’s enrollment.
Deadline: March 19 Encourages all participants to excel academically and to stay on track for eligibility in The First Tee Scholars Program.
Participants of all ages who earn As and Bs (or equivalent) on their report cards will receive signed certificates.Deadline: November 30 This distinction is awarded to participants who are seniors in high school and excel in academics, leadership, character development, and chapter and community involvement.A limited number of scholarships are available each year and are awarded after the class is designated.You do not need to be enrolled in The First Tee to participate in the following: Our chapter is one of many in The First Tee network.The First Tee is reaching young people in all 50 states and select international locations on golf courses, in elementary schools and through other youth-serving organizations.They participate in championship golf and life skill development, are challenged to lead others and explore college life including dorm living and creating a network of new friends.Deadline: April 2 The Perfect Sense Unified Challenge is a team event with junior golfers from The First Tee paired as teammates with wounded veterans and Special Olympics golfers from around the country.These events often become life-changing experiences. Youth meet new people, play golf, achieve greatness, and show our Nine Core Values in action.Coca-Cola Company offers five participants the chance to experience downtown Atlanta visiting the Coca-Cola campus, attending new hire training, and taking part in interviews to determine the winner of a scholarship. Participants submit a written essay about how they are a ‘Power for Good’ through service to their communities, schools, and neighborhoods.Two essay applicants will each receive a one-time ,000 college scholarship and a VIP experience at the John Deere Classic.Each summer, 96 participants from the chapter network are selected to attend the week-long academy.
